I created this site as a devoted fan of Gene & Jude's hot dogs to share information about Gene & Jude's including pictures, menu and history. It is a forum for fans to post stories about Gene & Jude's and other great Chicago area hot dog restaurants. I hope to create a gateway into the world of the Chicago Hot Dog experience. What is a Chicago dog? Where are the best ones served? What were some of the great hot dog restaurants of the past?

Why did I build this site?
1. I was looking for information on Gene & Judes as it is my favorite hot dog and there was no official site when I searched.
2. I am hooked on these tasty little dogs and have been since I was able to eat solid foods. My father was a big fan and he regularly came out to River Grove (like a trip out to the country) since the days they first opened their doors. I started eating them in about 1955. I remember when the place was a frame building and they served Kayo in bottles. I even remember (vaguely) a take out window. But the food and the menu hasn't changed (other than the drink and soda pop machines). Everything used to be in bottles.
And then there was Cock Robin for desert. Cock Robin (Formerly known as Prince Castle) was an Ice Cream Restaurant located in what is now the parking lot of Gene's & Judes. But, more on the memories later... Click the memories button and share some of your own memories!
